About Jacqueline Petty, APR:
I deeply believe in the importance of effective communication and its potential to harmonize the diverse elements of society. My goal is to utilize my public relations skills to overcome communication barriers between cultures and help the world evolve into a better place.

Currently, I serve as a Press Officer for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and work to execute a variety of health communication and marketing programs to help save and improve the lives of people across the world.

Earlier public relations and marketing experience includes Kellen Communications, as a senior team member I directed the communications strategy for several food industry clients; The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where I worked to place more than 200 journalists on various media outlets across the globe; Zoo Atlanta, as the public relations coordinator and later the interim director of communications; publisher and editor for BeulahNews magazine; and internship positions with Edelman, the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Fluid Public Relations. In addition, I am a nationally-published journalist, have served as an international spokesperson and won multiple industry awards.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in communications from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa. Additionally, I obtained my accreditation in public relations (APR) – which is a certification program for public relations professionals to demonstrate a high level of competence and experience.

Some of my specialties include: strategic and creative planning, branding, social media, media relations, media training and crisis communication.
